South Beach

Ok...so I moved on from the Ultimate Body Diet. The diet wasn't really working for me.
So I am now attempting to adapt to the South Beach Diet way of life. I did it for 4 days last week and I lost 4 lbs. But I went on vacation. I tried my very best to stay on the diet to the best of my ability, ok so I gave into the Mexican food...and my favorite pizza place, but I only gained 1.5 lbs back. I went shopping after work today so hopefully I'll be on the right track again.
My day will consist of a glass of ovaltine at 7am followed at 8:30 by a kids cliff bar, some nuts, then for lunch a salad (fresh lettuce, apple slices, carrots, bell pepper, avacado, with olive oil and red wine vinegar and salt and pepper dressing) and yogurt for a snack and dinner.
When I started I was 130 lbs I am down to 127 lbs.
I will keep updating.

Pictures- I'm so embarrassed!

In the embarrassment of actually posting this pictures. I'm hoping to change my body image as well as my self image!
Not trying to justify my pictures...but after and not having the motivation to cook dinner or prepare meals at home this is what happened.
I only have about 10-12 lbs to lose to get back to get back to my pregnancy weight. My goal is to lose 15 lbs total to get down to 115.

Today is day 6 without Starbucks!!! I am a recovering Starbucks addict. No kidding. I have gone to Starbucks at least 5 days a week for the past 8 years. Over the last 8years I've spent, on average $8,380.
I have kicked started my Ultimate Body Diet. I'm on my way. I'm having trouble keeping up with the eating every two hours, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. I have eliminated sodas (as of yesterday) out of my diet as well. So now I'm just drinking water with crystal light peach or raspberry tea (no sugar and only 5 calories per serving). I went walking Monday, Wednesday and Friday before work and Saturday when Ava got up.

My goals for this up coming week are:
To focus on what I eat
And to make a better effort to walk further in the morning, even if that means getting up earlier.

About Ultimate Body

The Ultimate Body is actually a program that incorporates an enhanced eating regiment, and a powerful full body work out. I have not had the privilege of actually participating in the work out but I was introduced to this by someone at work, who has amazingly transformed her body from sometimes weight fluctuating to slim and toned. She looks amazing! She was not in any means heavy to begin with, but over the course of about 12 weeks she lost 12 lbs and continued to lose a few more pounds bringing her close to the 20 lbs (lost pounds) mark! Good for her
Another lady at work started following some of the eating habits of Ultimate Body and in 3 weeks has lost 9.5 lbs. She was a fellow Starbucks addict.

So with Ultimate Body work out there are a few simple steps
1. Eat 6 mini meals a day
2. There is a list of foods to eat pick one food from the carbs and one from the protein to make a mini meal. Any vegetable is a go. You can add any vegetable to any meal and it doesn't count against you.
3. Portion size is the size of your palm.
4. Drink plenty of water
5. Don't eat sweets.
6. You follow this diet for 6 days and on the 7th day of each week you get a free day
you can eat WHATEVER you want and however much you want. Just try and stay away from beer.

Some examples of Good Proteins are
Halibut, Almonds, Salmon, Lean Beef, Chicken (no skin), Cottage Cheese, Beans (black, Egg Whites

Some examples of Good Carbs are
Fruit-blue berries, strawberries, watermelon; yogurt, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread.

A typical day would include something like this
Mini Meal 1: Water, oatmeal and blueberries and strawberries
Mini Meal 2: Luna nutrition bar, Water
Mini Meal 3: Whole wheat pasta and Salmon and some veggies
Mini Meal 4: Cottage Cheese and Yogurt flavored water
Mini Meal 5: Salad (minimal or light dressing)
Mini Meal 6: Bread thin (wheat) with a pinch (literally) of cheese, some green peppers, red peppers and mushrooms.

Next blog I will post what I ate that day then I'll also record how I'm doing without Starbucks (as a recovering addict), my weight, and measurements, and even a picture. EEK!
